Just a couple of minutes walk from my hotel is a pier(Phra ArThit ) for catching one of many river boats. In a city notorious for traffic jams, it can be a quick (and cheap) way of getting from A to B. I caught a ferry from Phra Arthit pier to Sathon Pier (Central Pier) for 20 Baht and then walked as far as Hua Lamphong Train station (where I wanted to make some train enquiries). I then caught bus number 53 to Khao San Road area.
